Tropical Treats

Calliandra haematocephala

A tropical reminder outside my door of the Albizia I used to grow in my Toronto garden. It is a buzz of birds all day especially hummingbirds.

Seeing this photo reminded me: I've fallen in love with Albizia julibrissen 'Summer Chocolate' a new cultivar with deep purple/brown foliage. Did you have to protect the one in Toronto? The inflorescens is stunning is it not?
